telecom operators announces the successful conclusion of its Spring 2011 Executive Summit in Berlin.

The summit, titled “Being more than cheap access to Skype, Google and Facebook”, attracted executive participants from many fixed, mobile, wholesale and virtual network operators (MVNOs), analysts, software vendors and hardware vendors.

Presentations and panel discussions covered the issues facing a rapidly commoditizing telecoms industry, how telecom operators can adapt and where future innovation is likely to come from. Among the topics discussed were:

– What happens if an over-the-top (OTT) provider like Google or Skype were to become an MVNO?

– How can operators protect and grow their threatened voice revenues?

– How can unified communications and Cloud technologies deliver services subscriber will pay for?

– Will the operators need to play a dual role in the Cloud?
