NSS Security Day 2025
NSS Security Day 2025
Security Starts Here
Security Starts Here
On November 30th, we celebrated the International Computer Security Day and the people who keep our digital world protected
Every digital system, every network, every business operation ultimately relies on one thing: people.
Behind each security tool, process, and defense mechanism, there is a human being making a choice — to stay aware, to follow best practices, to protect their organization and their community.
Since 1988, International Computer Security Day has reminded us that cybersecurity is not just about technology. It’s about responsibility, vigilance, and the everyday decisions that prevent small mistakes from becoming major incidents.
At NSS, we believe that security starts with us — with how we think, how we act, and how we support the ecosystem around us. As a Value Added Distributor, we stand at the intersection of vendors, partners, and end customers. And that means helping people build stronger habits, deeper understanding, and a shared culture of awareness.
Every day, we need a moment to pause and reflect:
- Are we aware of the threats around us?
- Are we doing our part to keep our digital environment safe?
- Are we empowering each other to stay secure?
Security isn’t just a switch you turn on.
It’s a mindset we choose. Together.

What Security Means to Us
What Security Means to Us
For over three decades, the cybersecurity community has evolved — but one thing hasn’t changed: security is a shared responsibility.
To honor International Computer Security Day, today and every day, we created an ongoing project, The Voices Wall to form a living mosaic of what it truly means to stay aware, prepared, and connected.

Why This Day Matters
Awareness. Readiness. Action.
Since its establishment in 1988, International Computer Security Day has served as a reminder to safeguard the digital systems we depend on.
But today, this message is more urgent than ever.
The modern threat landscape has evolved far beyond traditional malware or isolated breaches. Organizations now face a constant, adaptive, and highly organized ecosystem of cyber threats, including:
- Ransomware-as-a-Service, enabling even low-skilled attackers to launch sophisticated attacks.
- AI-powered phishing and social engineering, making fraudulent messages nearly indistinguishable from legitimate communications.
- Credential harvesting and identity-based attacks, bypassing traditional defenses by exploiting human behavior.
- Supply chain vulnerabilities, where a single weak link can compromise hundreds of organizations.
- Zero-day exploits and nation-state operations, targeting critical sectors at unprecedented scale.
- Cloud misconfigurations and remote-work exposures, expanding the attack surface beyond traditional perimeters.
In this environment, security is no longer a technical feature — it is a fundamental business requirement.
For NSS, this day emphasizes what we practice every day:
Preparedness
Staying secure means staying one step ahead.
Reviewing defenses, enabling MFA, updating systems, validating backup integrity — these actions are no longer “best practices” but necessities.
Resilience
No system is perfect, and no defense is static.
True cybersecurity is the ability to recover quickly, maintain continuity, and limit impact when incidents occur.
Empowerment
Technology alone cannot solve cybersecurity.
People — employees, partners, vendors — make the real difference.
By building awareness and fostering a culture of security, we create stronger defenses than any single product can offer.
Community
NSS operates in an ecosystem spanning Greece, Cyprus, Malta, the Balkans, and beyond. Every vendor, every partner, every engineer, every marketer contributes to a collective shield that protects business, data, and trust across the region.
International Computer Security Day reminds us of a simple truth:
Security isn’t static — it’s a continuous act of readiness.
A continuous practice of staying aware, prepared, and connected.
Today and every day.
